BOLT AI — Agent Builder for AWS
BOLT AI is an enterprise product designed to empower AWS users to build and deploy AI-powered agents across chat and voice. The platform bridges the gap between advanced AI capabilities and accessibility — giving organizations the tools to automate support and service interactions without heavy technical lift. As the lead product designer, I drove the experience from discovery through launch, building a flexible framework that brought clarity and control to an otherwise complex process.
The Objective:
The goal was to create an intuitive, scalable AI agent builder for AWS users — a platform that made it simple for teams to design and deploy agents tailored to their unique workflows. While similar tools existed, they were often rigid or overly technical. Our objective was to make AI agent creation approachable, without sacrificing depth or power, and to establish a clear UX foundation for a first-of-its-kind product.

The Approach:
I began with stakeholder and user interviews to understand the variety of use cases — from developers configuring multi-channel logic to business users managing service flows. Mapping these workflows revealed key bottlenecks around visibility, system handoffs, and usability. I designed a modular builder UI that allowed users to create agent logic visually, integrate voice and chat seamlessly, and preview decision flows in real time. Partnering with engineering, I developed a design system inspired by AWS patterns but optimized for clarity and customization — ensuring the experience scaled as new agent capabilities emerged.

The Impact:
The BOLT AI Agent Builder launched successfully on AWS Marketplace as a flagship NeuraFlash product. It delivered a major usability leap for AWS customers, significantly reducing technical dependency and improving speed to deployment for AI-powered support agents. The design system became the foundation for future internal tools and client implementations, helping standardize design across NeuraFlash’s AI ecosystem. BOLT AI’s success demonstrated the power of clear design strategy in transforming an advanced, technical capability into a scalable, human-centered product experience.
