Who is Sam McCracken?

Who is Sam McCracken?

With a passion for creating meaningful digital experiences, I have spent the past decade helping brands craft compelling stories and intuitive products. My journey began in small studios and now extends to global companies.

But design isn’t the only place where I find meaning.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me:

  • At a horse show, cheering on my wife — the real rider in the family — as the proud “Horse Show Husband.”

  • Watching or playing sports (I’m tall, competitive, and maybe a little too invested in fantasy football).

  • Cooking something new — my go-to is coconut jasmine rice with mango salsa.

  • Exploring new places; Scotland, London, and Hawaii have been some recent favorites.

Those moments shape how I design too — grounded in curiosity, attention to detail, and a drive to bring ideas to life in unexpected ways.

I’m a Product & Experience Designer who thrives on clarity, curiosity, and making complexity feel effortless. With a background spanning UX, product design, and design strategy, I’ve helped SaaS companies, enterprise teams, and fast-moving startups turn messy systems into meaningful, scalable experiences.

I focus on designing systems and workflows that turn friction into flow — experiences that move teams forward and make technology feel more human. Every project begins with one question: How can we make this better for people? Whether it’s shaping AI-driven experiences that boost adoption or building design systems that simplify operations, my goal remains the same — create clarity through design and drive impact through purpose.

A Designer Built on Purpose, People, and Perspective.

My Approach to Design

I thrive at the intersection of creativity and strategy, balancing aesthetics with user needs. My approach is people-centered and always forward-looking, combining clean design with practical thinking.

I believe the best design work sits at the intersection of clarity, collaboration, and outcomes.

Clarity — Take what’s complex and make it intuitive.
Collaboration — Build alongside PMs, engineers, and stakeholders, not in silos.
Outcomes — Measure everything. Design isn’t finished until it moves the numbers.

Outside of work, I enjoy photography, hiking, and exploring the latest in design technology. I believe great ideas come from diverse experiences and an open mind.

Let’s chat — about design, AI, sports, the best spots in Tampa, or which bourbon deserves the top shelf. Always open to good conversations and new connections.
